Grassland Co Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 26, 2025

This Privacy Policy explains how Grassland Co (“Grassland Co,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you visit grasslandco.com (the “Site”), interact with our ads (including on Meta’s platforms), or otherwise engage with us. We also include a California Notice at Collection and state-specific disclosures below. If you do not agree with this Policy, please do not use the Site.

1) Scope

This Policy applies to the Site and any services, content, features, or marketing communications we control or operate that link to it. It does not apply to third-party websites, services, brands, or platforms that we do not control.

2) Information We Collect

We collect information in three ways: (a) directly from you; (b) automatically through cookies, pixels, SDKs, and similar technologies; and (c) from third parties (such as advertising partners and affiliate networks).

A. Information You Provide

  • Contact details (name, email address, phone number)
  • Account information (if we offer accounts)
  • Purchase/transaction details (if we sell products/services)
  • Survey responses, reviews, and customer support messages
  • Marketing preferences and consents

B. Information Collected Automatically

  • Device and browsing information: IP address, device identifiers, browser type, operating system, language, pages viewed, links clicked, referring/exit pages, and timestamps
  • Approximate location derived from IP address (country, region, city)
  • Cookie and pixel data including identifiers used for analytics, ad measurement, and interest-based advertising
  • Server logs and diagnostic information

C. Information From Third Parties

  • Advertising and analytics partners (e.g., Meta, Google) may provide audience and conversion data related to our ads and Site interactions
  • Affiliate networks and partners may inform us when you visit or make a purchase via their links or offers
  • Data enrichment/verification vendors (where allowed by law)

Sensitive information: We do not seek to collect sensitive personal information (e.g., precise geolocation, health data) unless you explicitly provide it and we have a lawful basis. Do not share sensitive information unless requested for a specific purpose.

3) How We Use Information

We use information for:

  • Providing and improving the Site and our products/services
  • Customer service and responding to inquiries
  • Personalization and content optimization
  • Analytics and performance (e.g., traffic, engagement, conversions)
  • Marketing and advertising, including:
    • Delivering, measuring, and improving interest-based ads
    • Running and optimizing Meta Ads (Facebook, Instagram) using tools like the Meta Pixel and Conversions API (CAPI)
    • Managing affiliate links, offers, and attribution
  • Security and fraud prevention
  • Compliance with law and enforcing terms

Legal bases (for EEA/UK users): consent, performance of a contract, legitimate interests (e.g., Site security, analytics, marketing), and compliance with legal obligations.

4) Cookies, Pixels & Similar Technologies

We and our partners use cookies, web beacons, SDKs, local storage, and similar technologies to:

  • Operate core Site features
  • Understand usage and improve performance
  • Personalize content and remember preferences
  • Measure ad performance and attribute conversions
  • Serve interest-based advertising on our Site and third-party platforms

You can manage cookies and preferences through our cookie banner and privacy preferences center (when available), your browser/device settings, or the opt-out tools listed in Section 9 below. Disabling cookies may affect Site functionality.

5) Advertising & Affiliate Marketing

A. Meta Advertising (Meta Pixel & Conversions API)

We use Meta technologies to understand how our ads perform and to reach people who may be interested in our content. These tools may allow Meta to collect or receive information from the Site and elsewhere and use it to provide measurement services and targeted ads. Where permitted, we may send hashed identifiers (such as email or phone) to help match Site actions to ad events (e.g., purchases or registrations) via Conversions API.

How to control: You can manage ad preferences on Meta services and use industry opt-out tools. See Section 9.

B. Interest-Based Advertising (IBA) / Targeted Advertising

We work with advertising partners (e.g., ad networks, DSPs, exchanges) that use cookies and identifiers to infer interests and show relevant ads across websites and apps. This may be considered a “sale” or “share” of personal information or “targeted advertising” under certain U.S. state privacy laws.

C. Affiliate Links & Sponsored Content

Our Site participates in affiliate marketing programs. This means we may place links to merchant websites or display offers that result in us earning a commission if you click or make a qualifying purchase. Affiliate partners may use cookies or tracking pixels to attribute actions to our Site. We strive to clearly label affiliate content and disclosures where required.

6) How We Disclose Information

We may disclose the categories of information described in Section 2 to:

  • Service providers and vendors (hosting, analytics, customer support, payment processing, security, email/SMS, marketing)
  • Advertising and measurement partners (including Meta and other ad tech partners) for IBA/targeted ads, measurement, and attribution
  • Affiliate networks and merchant partners for offer tracking and commissions
  • Corporate affiliates (if applicable) and in connection with a business transfer (e.g., merger, acquisition)
  • Legal, safety, and compliance purposes (e.g., to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, protect our rights and users)

We do not knowingly allow third parties to collect information from children on our Site (see Section 12).

7) “Sell,” “Share,” and Targeted Advertising Disclosures (U.S. Laws)

Some U.S. state privacy laws (e.g., California, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Virginia, and others) define “sale,” “share,” or “targeted advertising” broadly. Our use of third-party advertising cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to enable interest-based ads may be considered a sale or share of personal information or targeted advertising.

Your choices:

  • Use our “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information / Opt Out of Targeted Advertising” link (when available) or the cookie banner to opt out of advertising cookies and data transfers for targeted advertising.
  • Enable a recognized opt-out preference signal (e.g., Global Privacy Control) in supported browsers—we honor such signals as required by applicable law.

We do not have actual knowledge that we sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.

8) Your Privacy Rights

Your rights depend on where you live. Subject to exceptions, you may have the right to:

  • Access/Know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we maintain about you
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Delete information
  • Opt out of sale/share and targeted advertising
  • Limit the use/disclosure of sensitive personal information (California)
  • Portability (receive a copy in a portable format)
  • Object or restrict certain processing (EEA/UK)
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent (EEA/UK)
  • Appeal a denied request (CO/CT/VA and others)

To exercise rights, contact us as described in Section 16. We will verify and respond consistent with applicable law. Authorized agents may submit requests for California residents, subject to verification.

9) Managing Preferences & Opt-Out Tools

Note: These tools rely on cookies or device settings, so your choices may not persist across browsers/devices unless you configure each one.

10) Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed for the purposes described in this Policy (e.g., to provide services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements). Where applicable, we will disclose retention periods in our Notice at Collection below or upon request.

11) Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

12) Children’s Privacy

The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect or sell/share personal information from children under 13 (U.S.) or under the age threshold applicable in your jurisdiction. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us to request deletion.

13) International Data Transfers

We may transfer, store, and process your information outside your country of residence, including in the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses) for transfers of personal data from the EEA/UK to countries that have not been deemed to provide an adequate level of protection.

14) Third-Party Sites & Services

Our Site may link to third-party websites, apps, and services. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.

15) Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated “Last updated” date. Significant changes may be communicated via the Site or by other reasonable means.

16) Contact Us

Questions or requests regarding this Policy or your personal information can be submitted to:

If you are in the EEA/UK and wish to contact our data protection representative or Data Protection Officer (if appointed), please email privacy@grasslandco.com and note “DPO” or “EU/UK Representative” in the subject line.

17) California Notice at Collection

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by CPRA), we provide the following notice at or before the time of collection. We collect the categories of information listed below for the purposes stated in Section 3 and retain them for the durations indicated (or criteria used to determine duration). We may disclose these categories to the recipients listed in Section 6 for the purposes stated there. Our use of advertising technology may be considered a sale or sharing of personal information; see Section 7 for opt-out options.

Categories collected (examples):

  • Identifiers: name, email address, IP address, cookie IDs, advertising IDs (retention: for the life of the account/relationship and as required by law; ad identifiers typically 13–26 months, subject to partner policies)
  • Commercial information: products/services viewed or purchased, interaction with offers (retention: up to 7 years for tax/accounting if purchases occur; otherwise 13–26 months)
  • Internet or other electronic network activity: browsing history, pages viewed, clicks, referrers (retention: 13–26 months)
  • Approximate geolocation: general location from IP (retention: 13–26 months)
  • Inferences: preferences or interests derived from other information (retention: 13–26 months)
  • User content/communications: support messages, reviews (retention: as long as necessary for support and compliance)

Sensitive personal information: We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that would require offering a Limit the Use right under CPRA, other than as permitted by law (e.g., security, short-term transient use, or as you direct).

Sources: You, your device/browser, cookies/pixels, advertising/analytics partners, affiliate networks, and service providers.

Purposes: See Section 3.

Recipients: See Section 6.

Your Rights & Choices: See Sections 7–9.

18) U.S. State-Specific Disclosures

Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, and other states with similar laws) may exercise the rights described in Section 8. We will honor opt-out preference signals (e.g., GPC) where required. To appeal a decision regarding your request, reply to our response email with “Appeal” in the subject line and include your request details.

19) Financial Incentives (If Offered)

We may offer discounts, contests, or other benefits (collectively, “incentives”) in exchange for personal information (e.g., email sign-up). Participation is optional. The program terms will describe eligible data, how to opt in, how to withdraw, and how the incentive value is reasonably related to the data’s value to our business. California residents may opt out at any time by contacting us or following program instructions.

20) How to Submit a Privacy Request

For verification, we may ask you to confirm information we already have. If you use an authorized agent (CA), we may require proof of authorization and verification of your identity.

21) Do Not Track (DNT)

Some browsers transmit Do Not Track signals. Because there is no common industry standard, we do not respond to DNT. We do, however, respond to certain state-mandated opt-out preference signals (see Section 7).

22) Additional Notes for Affiliates & Partners

If you access partner offers via our Site, those partners may independently collect and process your information under their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review those policies. We require affiliates and publishers that work with us to comply with applicable laws and to provide clear disclosures where required.
